Matsue city is the capital city in Shimane prefecture, the eastern Japan. You can enjoy the historical atmosphere in this town.
Hattori Coffee, Cafe:
The local coffee place called Hattori Coffee in Matsue, Shimane was founded in 1981. The cafe has been loved locally in Matsue. The breakfast is delicious, but also the atmosphere in the cafe is very good. It must be very good to read a newspaper, a book, chat with your family or friends.
Matsue Castle:
Many Japanease cattle towers were destroyed in the long history. So, it’s very rare that you can see the original tower. However, Matsue castle tower still remains. From the castle tower, you can see the entire city. The castle has a moat, and visitors can take a cruise if you like. Don’t forget to visit Shiomi Nawata street. There are some Japanese old style houses (Museums, Restaurant) at the street. It’s fun to take a walk on the street.
Gessho-ji Temple:
Matsue has the green tea culture from a long time ago. Therefore, there are many places you can enjoy a tea ceremony. The place I’d like to share is Gessho-ji temple. the mausoleum of Matsudaira Harusato (Fumaikou) who is said that he made the tea culture popular in Matsue is located in the temple. The admission ticket of this temple has two types of ticket. One includes a tea set. After seeing the mausoleums, you can enjoy the traditional Japanese style house. And, you can have a green tea with Japanese snack with a great view of the garden
Adachi Mueseum:
Adachi Museum is located in Yasugi-City, where is the eastern part of Shimane prefecture. Their Japanese garden of the museum is very popular. It takes 22 minutes to Yasugi JR station. From the station they have a shuttle bus service to the museum. The bus takes you to the museum in another 20 minutes. If you know the time table, You can check it on the link.
The garden is very huge. So, there are various views of the garden from the museum building. It has the cafe instead of the museum. It would be very good idea if you take a rest there with beautiful scenery.
